OnePlus 6 Launched in India, starting at Rs.34,999

One of the most anticipated smartphone of this year, the OnePlus 6 was finally unveiled on May 16 in a global launch event which was held at London, followed by a launch event in India on May 17, 2018. We covered the India launch event which was held in Mumbai on May 17, 2018 and were delighted to get our hands on the beast itself. The OnePlus 6 came with a bang, giving tough competition to all the flagships which were ruling the smartphone market for a while now. Packed with powerful hardware and software, The OnePlus 6 became an instant hit among its millions of fans worldwide. OnePlus 6 Technical Specifications & Features

OnePlus 6 sports a glass sandwich body design with metal on the sides. In the front it boasts a huge almost-bezel less display with an iPhone X like notch on the top, which houses the front camera and other important sensors. OnePlus 6 weighs 177 grams and is 7.8 mm in thickness. Even though it comes in glass sandwich design, it still does not support wireless charging but is water-resistant to an extent.

Display

OnePlus 6 boasts a 6.28" Inchs Optic AMOLED Display with a resolution 1080 x 2280 pixels and pixel density of ~402 ppi. The aspect ratio is 19:9 and the display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Hardware & Storage

Under the hood it packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, Octa-Core (4x2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor with Adreno 630 GPU. Storage wise you get two variants, the first one packs 6GB RAM & 64GB storage, and the other variant packs 8GB RAM & 128GB storage. There is a limited edition third variant (Marvel Avengers edition OnePlus 6) which comes with 8GB RAM & 256GB storage. There is no microSD slot available.

Camera

The rear camera is a Dual 16 Megapixel + 20 Megapixel combo. The 16 MP sensor is f/1.7 and supports both EIS & OIS. The 20 MP sensor is f/1.7. The rear camera comes with Dual LED flash and Phase Detection Autofocus. OnePlus 6 can shoot 4K (2160p) videos at 60 fps, 1080p videos at 240 fps and 720p videos at 480 fps. The front camera is a 16 Megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture, EIS support and video shooting capabilities up to 1080p FHD.

Software & Battery

OnePlus 6 smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, topped by OnePlus' own version of stock Android, which is known as Oxygen OS. The Oxygen OS on OnePlus 6, comes with improved stability and is faster than ever. To keep all that running, OnePlus 6 houses a 3300 mAh Li-Po battery, which is non-removable and delivers enough juice to keep the device running for a long-long time. In case you run out of juice, you can rely on Dash charge technology to supply you a day's power in 20 minutes.

Other Features

OnePlus 6 is a Dual-SIM smartphone ans supports 4G network. Connectivity wise you get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS and Galileo, NFC and USB Type-C. On the rear section you get a fingerprint sensor.

Availability & Price

OnePlus 6 will be available via Amazon, OnePlus web-store and OnePlus experience stores across the country. The sales of OnePlus 6 will begin on May 21, 2018 for Amazon Prime members, while others will be able to purchase OnePlus 6 starting May 22, 2018.
